Joining the Hack Club Slack
Joining the Hack Club Slack is the first step along your Shiba journey (other than signing up at shiba.hackclub.com).
The link to the Hack Club Slack is: hackclub.slack.com.
If you sign up for Shiba, you'll automatically be given an account on the Slack with the same email that you signed up with.
Multi-Channel Guest Access
When you first join the Slack, you'll be a multi-channel guest. This means your access to the community will be restricted to only certain channels, and you won't be able to:
If you get an error saying you're not authorized to do something, it's likely because you're still a multi-channel guest.
Becoming a Full Member
To become a full member of the Hack Club community:
- Go to the channel #slack-welcome-start.
- Tap the button called Explore The Cave.
- Go through the tutorial flow to upgrade your account from multi-channel guest to full member.
Congratulations!
Once you're a full member, congratulations—you can now:
- Create channels
- Join channels
- Connect to Hackatime or Shiba
- Do basically whatever you'd like!
